Schools, Choices, And Children: Picking Your Kid's School

When the time came to choose a school for my children, I was overwhelmed by all of the choices. From public school to private school, with charter schools and cyber schools as well, I had no idea where to start. I finally jumped into the research with precision focus so that I could fully understand the choices. My research was exhaustive, and there was no single source to find all of the details in one place. I created this site to build just that. I hope that the information here helps you to find the school that's right for your child.

Why You Should Finally Start Working Towards Your Associate's Degree In The New Year

by Nevaeh Watkins

You are out of high school, and maybe you've already been in the workforce for a while. You've always wanted to further your education but you haven't had the time or the money. If this sounds like you, you might be the perfect fit for a school that provides associate degrees. Here's why you should finally take the plunge and go back to school in the new year.

Associate Degrees Don't Break the Bank

Yes, it's true that the cost of a four-year education in this country continues to climb. But an associate's degree typically only takes two years and you might be able to complete the coursework even faster depending on how motivated you are. Furthermore schools that specialize in associate degrees tend to be much more affordable than traditional colleges anyway. So, two years getting an associate's degree will likely cost far less than two years at a traditional four-year institution.

The Job Market Keeps Getting More Competitive

With each passing year, more and more college graduates are finding that competition on the open market is increasingly stiff. How do you plan on advancing in your career or getting an opportunity to move into a new one if you don't have the credentials to compete? An associate's degree may technically still put you behind someone with a bachelor's from an education standpoint, but if you are continuing your education, this likely means you already have real world experience. Combine that experience with at least a two-year degree and you may see more opportunities starting to come your way.

Earn More

Your exact results will of course vary based on your industry and the exact job you accept. But in general, going back to school for associate's degree has real potential to increase your income over time. This could come from being able to compete for a better job as was just mentioned, but you might also have more potential at your current employer. Move out of retail and into a corporate position, for example. Long story short, the investment you make now in going back to school should pay off multiple times over as time goes on.

Make this New Year count. Make this the year that you finally go back to school and further your education. Get an associate's degree and watch new opportunities pop up. You might even be able to transfer some of your associate credits to a four-year university in the future if you want to continue on. Contact a local school today for more information.
